Call for Project Proposals European History of Artificial Intelligence

The European Association for Artificial Intelligence (EurAI) is delighted to announce a call for project proposals on the topic of the "European History of Artificial Intelligence.” This call invites proposals for projects in various formats, including but not limited to the creation of videos, collection of interviews, development of books, and other innovative mediums. The goal is to explore and document the significant milestones, influential figures, and historical context that have shaped the development of Artificial Intelligence in Europe.

Objective: The objective of this call is to support projects that shed light on the rich and diverse history of Artificial Intelligence in Europe. We encourage proposals that delve into the historical foundations, breakthroughs, and transformative moments that have propelled AI research and development on the European continent.

Funding and Selection Process: EurAI will provide a fixed amount of 10,000€ per selected project to support its execution. We anticipate selecting a maximum of three projects for funding. The selection process will consider the quality of the proposals, their alignment with the theme of European AI history, and their potential to contribute to the understanding and dissemination of this important facet of AI's evolution.

Timeline and ECAI 24 Conference: Project proposals should include a schedule, outlining the planned activities, milestones, and deliverables. Ideally, the projects should aim to make their results available at the ECAI 24 conference, which will be an excellent platform for showcasing the outcomes of these endeavours.

Alternative Funding Support: In addition to the funding provided by EurAI, we welcome information on any alternative funding sources or potential collaborations that can support the project. This information will be considered during the selection process but is not a mandatory requirement for submission.
